Looking north into the Alatna Valley it's wide open, not a cloud in the sky, no visible fog in low lying areas. The morning fog is burning off Iniakuk Lake, another 30 minutes to an hour and it should be gone, revealing a clear, beautiful day.

Looking north to the Alatna Valley, most of the morning fog has dissipated. A stubborn band of fog remains on the east ridge of Iniakuk Lake. Visibility is 5 miles, ceiling 6000' overcast. Winds dead calm. The south end of Iniakuk Lake is still choked up with fog in the low lying areas. The Alatna Hills are not visible.

The ground fog is just beginning to barely, slowly lift. Visibility is 3 miles, ceiling 150'.  Looking north into the Alatna Valley - completely choked up. Burn off will take some time.

Looking north up the Alatna Valley - totally clear of morning fog, not a cloud in the sky. Iniakuk Lake still has patches of fog - it's pushed out to the end of the lake, about 5 miles. The east and west ridges have patches to burn off. Should be severe clear in about another hour.

The dense fog is burning off, but it's taking a while. Visibility is 5 miles, ceiling 200' of fog that should be totally gone within an hour. The sun is shining through creating a silvery light on Iniakuk Lake.

The north wind changed to dead calm then a sudden switch to SE at 15 knots and accelerating. Temperature is 62 degrees. There is a wall of white coming from the SE heading this way.

Temperature 47 degrees, barometer 29.95. Visibility 15 miles, ceiling 6000' scattered. Winds from the north at 4 knots are blowing blue sky south. The weather started to clear late yesterday afternoon, the full moon came up about 10:30p and was shining in the west at 5:15a.

Our guests from the Netherlands will go on a 4-6 hour float trip down the outlet of Iniakuk Lake with pick up by Brooks Range Aviation on the Malemute River. Hopefully good weather will prevail.

Our guests from Mexico City floated down the outlet of Iniakuk Lake and were picked up at the Malemute Fork by Brooks Range Aviation. A 6 hour float and 5 minute flight back to Iniakuk Lodge in time for dinner.
