Iniakuk Lake Weather, Brooks Range, Alaska

Thanks to a small weather window and Brooks Range Aviation, we lifted off Iniakuk Lake about 7:15P Saturday, then spent the night in a cozy cabin in Bettles and caught the morning flight to Fairbanks.

Iniakuk Lake, the constantly changing weather and light, crisp, fragrant air will be missed. Fly safe.

Trend: Improving. Visibility 10 miles, ceiling 800'. Looking south to the Alatna Hills, the wall of white has lifted and sky is brightening. Looking north to the Alatna Valley it appears the fog is down to the ground.

It rained all day yesterday and most of last night. Light morning fog is gathering on the lake perimeter.

Surf is up on Iniakuk Lake! SE winds steady at 20 knots, gusting higher. Beautiful but breezy day.

Our guests from Philadelphia are floating down the Tobuk River to the confluence of the Alatna and Malemute River. They will be scooped up by Brooks Range Aviation and be back at Iniakuk Lodge in time for dinner. This is a great trip for all fitness levels.
