Iniakuk Lake Weather, Brooks Range, Alaska 8:00A
Well after last night's performance, I know rolling thunder is more than a motorcycle gang. A huge system slowly advanced from the south about 10p blocking out the Alatna Hills from east to west. Then thunder cracked and rolled, lightening bolts lit up the sky, followed by bouts of torrential rain. This lasted until 2:30A. Why the Brooks Range didn't go up in smoke is a miracle.
There is a lot of moisture in the air, winds are calm out of the north, visibility 10 miles, ceiling 6000', patches of morning fog. Temperature 60 degrees, barometer 30.0.
